Cannot connect

One of our members, Young Liberty reports that he has been unable to connect to the WCG server for some time. Everything was working fine until the last WU tried to upload, but it will not. He has tried everything, including un/reinstalling the entire agent. Now he cannot connect to the server to register as an existing member and download a new WU. He says that he has not changed any of his settings since his last up/download. He uses a 56k modem, and has no trouble connecting to any other site.

Can anyone help? crying

Re: Cannot connect

Dave.

Thank you. The error message that Young Liberty gets states that his PC is unable to connect with the server, so we assume the server to be at fault. Is that correct?

Re: Cannot connect

Liberty Man --

Yep -- that's the symptom. I just completed a work unit and am stuck myself now.

I get the following in a message box:

The Grid Agent has encountered a problem while attempting to send results to the Grid Server. This may occur if the Grid Server cannot find any suitable workunits for your Agent, because the Grid Server is offline for maintenance, or because your computer is not online. If you are not online, please initiate a network connection at your convenience. The Agent will automatically communicate when the problem is solved.

Re: Cannot connect

The following was posted in a couple of other threads regarding this problem by Victors, World Community Grid Tech:

Sorry.. we are working on resolving a server connectivity problem. Please be patient, the agent will automatically retry later when the problem is fixed. If you are registering as a new user, unfortunately, you will have to wait for a while. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Cannot connect

I'm back rolling too -- might just take a bit for all of us to make it through.
