I know there have been a bunch of suggestions for this problem, but I continue to experience it. I was able to complete the first unit without difficulty, and seemingly the data was uploaded correctly, as I can see that I have points now. However, for the last 15 hours or so I get nothing but the "agent paused" message. I can minimize and force it to try to connect again, but after "sending informaiton to grid server" it goes back to paused. I have restarted. I looked for the DataProcessing thing that sometimes happens to XP but I don't see that in my performance settings so I don't think that is the problem. Any other suggestions?

Sorry.. we are working on resolving a server connectivity problem. Please be patient, the agent will automatically retry later when the problem is fixed. If you are registering as a new user, unfortunately, you will have to wait for a while. Sorry for the inconvenience. |

Well, I suspect that there may be a bit of a backlog hitting the server now. You can minimize the agent, then double click on the icon in the tray. That would bring up the agent again with the message window and, once I clicked on OK, would try to connect to the server. You could try that. However, I also saw that the agent would retry connecting on some regular basis so you may just want to wait a little more.

Hi,
Please note that some firewall applications, such as Peerguardian, may block access to the Almaden IBM lab where the server is, then prevent downloading WU and uploading results, which will cause an Agent Paused condition. Watch the logs and, if appropriate, edit the block list, or create an allow list wit the range 129.89.33.130-129.89.33.139. François |
