Hey guys,
----------------------------------------I don't know if appear in some thread before...I can't found anyone about...but... I wopuld like to suggest to invite all anonimous members wich didi not choose your country, to uodate your profile and choose one. It could be a frequent action from WCG team (maybe montlhy...), and could reach just the anonimous members that are active. According WCG there are 198500 anonimous members and it is almost 50% of WCG total members... is a huge team without countryies selected... I think that WCG team will create an imaginative message to " provoque " in kind way this huge team... Regards. Gib@ ![]()

Hi GIBA,
There have been a large number of systems without any national ID from the very start. For a while, we did have regular messages urging people to sign up for their country, but it did not seem to have any effect. By now, my personal opinion is that there are many members who do not want to be identified by nationality. I am happy that they are contributing to an international charitable cause and have no wish to irritate them by arguing against their personal choice. Lawrence |

Sorry but disagree with you. I think that there are many members without country selected due the last procedures to register members, aren't friendly enaough to engaged peopel to do it. I remember very clearly when I make my registration to WCG four years ago...was a boring process. Today is quicker and different but could be bether and more effective with little changes. I can't be afordable that almost 50% of WCG users do not choose yours countries due choice questions. I'm more inclined to imagine that WCG do not provide a strong way or tool to offer it. We know that registration processes that use step by step procedures like WCG are using, are boring for the most of people which do not have intimity enough with microcomputers and systems and it is a great show stopper if the objective of WCG is collect data about the members. Maybe in the next version of BOINC Agent, for example, could be included a feature that show a field to identify the user country, but just for users that do not have this field filled in your profile. Websphere software technology combined with Tivoli software technology could help on that, and IBM team probably could have more brilliant ideas about the right way to do it in next versions... up to you.
