Until now the returning time of results is 21 hours to be a reliable client.
Because of the extension of the work unit length from 8 over 9 to 10 hours now for the Rice WU's, you could consider to increase the returning time to let's say 24 hours to be a reliable client. Cheers |

Nice Try CP,
----------------------------------------The extension is semi temporary until the migration to the new hardware/db is complete. FAAH & HPF2 run time average has been sitting at the 10 hour mark for longer since about mid October. 1 / 7 Day Project Job Averages: FA@H - 9.57 / 9.99 HPF2 - 9.94 / 9.77 HCC - 6.05 / 6.19 In fact, the techs like them shorter for various reasons, but it's presently dictated by the old db performance. cheers

Hi Sek,
Yes I know that the Rice runtime extension is done because of the DB-performance. Average of DDDT 0 (Zero) Hopefully they will come soon again. Will the run times after new hardware and DB-installation also be shorter for the FAAH, HPF2 and HCC projects and [out of topic] will there be soon a new beta for the HPF2, so that crunchers with the Quad/Vista combination like you, me and others can tick HPF2 on again? |

Nothing written in stone except HCC. They can't be varied, a varying single x-crystallographic image that gets analyzed per task.
----------------------------------------As eluded the techs want to do a number of things for which code is developed to allow variable length jobs. One of the options tinkered with is "give me longer, medium, heavy" jobs. Next year. HPF2: See another thread just bumped. NB: Do see other "on topic" pre-existing threads for posts by e.g. knreed on future job sizing.
