Re: Running BOINC on web server

after all of that, it's now telling me it cannot connect to local host. I stopped BOINC and just going through the process of starting it again, but this time i'll remember to use the right password.

seemed so easy to install the first time, didn't get the cannot connect to host last time, even doing it as root.

Re: Running BOINC on web server

Excellent! Keep half an eye on it for a couple of days. You will probably also want to make sure it starts automatically at boot.

Re: Running BOINC on web server

Check your Results Status page - it will tell you what stage your work is at. You get credited when the work reaches "Valid".

they all seem to be in progress, most are not due to finish until the end of the month. will the cpu usage remain at 0 until then?

Re: Running BOINC on web server

That's the deadline. You will finish them much sooner than that.

Re: Running BOINC on web server

Yes, in your Results Status page the CPU Time will be 0 until the job is reported as complete, i.e. becomes "Pending Validation" or "Valid". There is no intermediate communication between your client and the website about jobs in progress.

Cheers. Jean.
