Is there any way you guys can block a computer from recieving anymore work units? I am no longer in controll of this machine and it appears to have gone "Palin" on the project. I don't want it to keep pulling work when I know it isn't going to complete those units.

Hello sicembears,
If you can run BOINC Manager on that machine, just select Projects, then select WCG, then click on No New Tasks. If you cannot get access to the computer, then just shrug and forget about it. Computers pick up lots of extra software over the years. Lawrence |

I do not have access to the computer. The computer downloads and aborts the download after trying to crunch it for a bit.

Not having physical control of the device you put BOINC on is not good. Suggest to contact the present owner / custodian and tell that person to kill the process and uninstall the software.
----------------------------------------Until then, if the client WERE attached to a BOINC Account Manager, and you know the device, you can actually use the BAM profile there for that device that will detach WCG from the client. You have to know the email address and the CPID to get it to do that. Theory you have to doctor out yourself, much preferring you to speak to the custodian of the computer. cheers
