A Workshop on World Community Grid for Not-for-profit Research Community in Geneva, Switzerland

On November 11, 2008, IBM Switzerland will be sponsoring a half-day workshop in Geneva, Switzerland, to inform the not-for-profit research community on how information technology can help to speed up research in areas such as healthcare, climate change and natural disasters specifically to encourage proposals for non-for-profit research projects to make free use of IBM's World Community Grid.

During this seminar, Dr Joseph Jasinski, Program Director of the IBM Healthcare and Life Sciences Institute, will talk about the benefits of using the World Community Grid for humanitarian purposes. Prof. Antoine Geissbühler, Director of the Service of Medical Informatics Hospital of Geneva, will address the topic « Strengthening health and healthcare systems with information technologies ».

This workshop is aimed at researchers from UN Agencies, Public Hospitals, Universities and other international non-profit organizations.
