Other files could be downloaded okay, of course.

This is a new laptop of mine, running MirBSD #10-current.

Hm, that said, a few Rice files fail as well. I think I’m going to suspend WCG altogether for now…

Re: “http error” while downloading HPF2 files

Everything seems OK for me right now, except for DDDT which have exhausted the stock, but the message is different.

Is it still down for you?

Cheers. Jean.

「SOLVED」 Re: “http error” while downloading HPF2 files

Well, I solved it…

I noticed I could not attach at all to Enigma@home, and decided to tcpdump
the issue. Then I found out that, every time a file was sent using a compres-
sing transfer encoding (gzip in that case), the download failed. So I did:

$ curl -v --compressed http://www.enigmaathome.net/

And I watched it die.

Having recently had a similar issue with Python’s zlib module dumping core,
I found out that curl was built against a bogus <zlib.h> header file, recom-
piled it with the system includes fixed, and whoops it works now.

/me goes back crunching…
