18-Oct-2008 10:23:31 [World Community Grid] Started download of wcg_hpf2_6.03.tga Other files could be downloaded okay, of course. This is a new laptop of mine, running MirBSD #10-current. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by mirabilos at Oct 18, 2008 2:50:17 PM] |

Hm, that said, a few Rice files fail as well. I think I’m going to suspend WCG altogether for now…

Everything seems OK for me right now, except for DDDT which have exhausted the stock, but the message is different.
----------------------------------------Is it still down for you? Cheers. Jean. |

Well, I solved it…
----------------------------------------I noticed I could not attach at all to Enigma@home, and decided to tcpdump the issue. Then I found out that, every time a file was sent using a compres- sing transfer encoding (gzip in that case), the download failed. So I did: $ curl -v --compressed http://www.enigmaathome.net/ And I watched it die. Having recently had a similar issue with Python’s zlib module dumping core, I found out that curl was built against a bogus <zlib.h> header file, recom- piled it with the system includes fixed, and whoops it works now. /me goes back crunching… |
