BOINC support for the Larrabee?

Intel's working on a new graphics chip called the Larrabee, and already starting plans for a Larrabee 2. Will BOINC be ready to use them in time, possibly by initially using emulations of them?

Re: BOINC support for the Larrabee?

That's not the problem. The problem is finding applications that can take advantage of a massively parallel architecture. Not all projects can do this effectively.

For example, in modelling simulations, when each step depends on the entire current state of the model, it is very difficult to break the problem down into smaller units that can run in parallel.
