My boinc manager is not attaching to wcg. I get a message saying:

I don't know.
Are you trying to attach using an account manager? What version of BOINC do you have? It could be that this is a transient problem, and retrying later will work. If not, the techs can take a closer look at your situation. |

I went in to tools then into attach to project. The version is 5.5.0 for windows. I just tried using account manager and a window came up saying:
Failed to attach account manager An error has occured, please check the messages tab for further details. World Community Grid only has partial account manager support. You need to choose "attach to project", not "attach to account manager".
Also, you should upgrade to the recommended BOINC version, 5.10.45. Get it here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/reg/ms/viewDownloadAgain.do |

You need to go to the top of Boinc Manager, select "Advanced/Attach to Project", not "Attach to Manager". This will bring up a dialog box and you can either select WCG or type in http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ as the project URL.
It will then communicate with the project server and ask for your username/password. If you are doing this, then please let us know what anti-virus/firewall software you are using as this could be causing a problem. |
