confused Crash using 6.2.19

I built a computer last December. Intel Quad and 4 gig or memory & Vista Ultimate. I installed the version being used at the time. I run it at 100%. I upgrade every time I am prompted. Recently I was prompted to install version 6.2.19. If I run in and the editing program for my Sony HDTV files, or run Google Earth while running the Agen I get the blue screen after a few minutes. Latest drivers all around. I reinstalled 5.10.45. Now I can run the Grid at full tilt, play back a recorded TV program, while recording a program and play HDTV as well as cruise the web. Seems to me that 6.2.19 has a bug?

Re: Crash using 6.2.19

6.2 has LOTS of bugs...follow some of Didactylos' postings since he does some BOINC coding himself. Please stay with 5.10.45 for the moment. It is nice and stable. You answered your own problem. ;-D

(I wonder whether a different project or BOINC itself prompted the upgrade. It may depend upon the project mix.)

Re: Crash using 6.2.19

I was informed, in the messages area, via a message in red print, that an upgrade was available. I followed the instructions as per usual.
Thanks for the info.

The next WCG packaged version of BOINC will not show that message until WCG is happy. The present message does not come from WCG. It's was hard coded by the BOINC developers to come from Berkeley and checked every 14 days.
