Doesn't send results immediately

My BOINC agent always downloads two Work Units. They can be from another project.
The problem is that when work on the first unit is done, the results are not automatically sent. It waits until I am well into my second work unit before sending the first. Why is this?

(we're not talking about a matter of hours, we're talking about 1.5 days before sending the first result)
Because I hand the results in later, don't I get less credit?

Can anyone shed a little bit of light on this matter?

Thanks!

You don't get less credit.

BOINC reports work at the same time as it gets more work, to save time.

So, don't worry about it. BOINC will always report work before the deadline.

1.5 days is open to interpretation... was that from the moment of fetching the task? IF the client was on and connected to the Internet it would have sent cleared the "ready to report" no later then
1) when the next task request was made, or
2) when 24 hours before deadline arrived or
3) 24 hours from time of completion,

which ever condition occurred first. There's a few more rules, but 24 hours would be the top delay, when the client is allowed to connect.

Can think of scenarios that it could happen, but that means that default settings were altered and a scheduled connect time/date was programmed in the local preferences. That I doubt is here the case.

Re: Doesn't send results immediately

I meant 1.5 days after completion of the task.

But as was said before, apparently the client doesn't send the results until asking for new work, so that probably solves it.

Thanks anyway
