You'd better buy that vid card, Keith. ![]() Hmm, hard to justify for a five year old's computer. Besides, I don't think it has room - both in terms of the length of the card and in terms an open slot. That quad has more ports than a dog has fleas. When I ordered it, I could get a couple of extra USB ports for free. Turned out that while it doesn't use a slot, it does use the hole in the back for that slot. The other slot got a wireless adapter put in it. I suspect if I try to expand any more, I'm going to have to introduce the wife to grid computing so she knows what I'm doing. |

How can anything compete with Graphics Card Crunching!?!?!?!?! Jonathan, I suspect not much unless you're doing some real intense graphics work like CAD or high-end video games. Maybe one BOINC is well-established in its support of GPUs, the projects will start supporting it. |

I wish I could put cards in the HP's ... such good crunchin' machines. They have empty PCI-E slots but with 300W power supplies and not enough room for the card ... no way. But I am much encoraged by the plans from Lattice. DC is taking notice that 605 active members at PS3Grid are blowing the doors off projects with K's of members. Speaking of K's ... good baseball game going on. ![]() ![]() |
