I just wondering if members could be paid participating in grid computing.
Grid computing helps research about cancer, it helps to create cancer therapies. If i have a cancer, i have to pay medics myself, and i'm participating created medics indirectly (internet, electricity, ...) Does it appear to be normal to anyone here ? -Bill |

I just wondering if members could be paid participating in grid computing. When the costs of research are lower, then the costs of medicine should be lower too. At least they should. And in Finland, we pay each others medical care in the form of taxes, so indirectly I'm getting paid all the time ![]()

Pharmacy industry is being paid by state you work indirectly for pharmacy industry offering your computer for free Pharmacy industry make money, ok. Pharmacy industry shoold pay back members of world community for work. It seems to be correct like that, and not, without the last sentence. ![]() |

So if the drug is based on the WCG research, it will be remarkably cheaper. ![]()

If you can find someone to pay you for your time, then go ahead. Any member who doesn't like the rules doesn't have to participate. Gotta get back to crunching. ![]() |

I'm a noob in business but i'm interested understanding your thought : what constrain drug to be cheap ? or in another way, why this drug can't be expensive ? mikaok wanted to say that all results made by WCG users are public. It's one of the mandatory conditions of running anything on WCG. So if someone can use WCG results to create medicine for a cancer, for ex., then he cannot patent it and put his own price for the drug. Though noone forbiddes medical company in further developing what was achived by WCG and patent new, more effecient drug. Grid computing is a really interesting application. The benefit for research is real. Member donating is computer resource for free earns virtue but virtue does not help you to pay drug. My question seems to create trouble: it's just a dialogue about members ,WCG and pharamcy industry interests. |
