Well, it may very easily be me shortly. I am looking at the same system and either this KVM Switch or this one. One item of interest -- A new system would be desktop number 2 -- why am I looking at 4 port KVM switches? is MOT fever getting to me?

Oh hell Dave ... get an 8-port for future expansion. laughing biggrin

Yep, it is addictive ... what else can old men do with their money? Not like we are going to attract young women with it.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 29 smilesmile

Can anybody recommend a KVM switch that will accomodate a wireless bluetooth Logitech keyboard and mouse? I am beginning to consider a system like the one DM is waiting for.

If it exists in the KVM world, you can find it here. It is where I got my setup. If you can't easily find what you are looking for, contact them and specify your whole configuration. When I used their customer service it was excellent. Pay attention to whether your connections will be PS2 or USB ... you cannot mix and match mouse connections even using PS2->USB or USB->PS2 adapters. (I found that out the hard way. smile )

I have an older Cybex Autoview Commander KVM switch and I have connected 4 systems using the PS 2 connectors and one system using a USB to PS2 converter ( the PS2 port for the keyboard is bad) and it works. Both the keyboard and mouse go through the converter. The USB to PS2 converter cost about 10 bucks. The KVM switch I got at an auction for $25(it included the the dual PS2 and AT combination cables). Whether or not it works may depend on the switch itself. Good luck

Cheers

Hey Sgt.Joe!!! Welcome.

I have an ancient Rose ServeView + (16 port ... $50 on Ebay but $150+ for the cables) that runs the second string machines ... it will convert anything to anything (go figure ?) But the much newer IOGear Miniview Ultra (8 port PS2) will not convert a mouse to USB. Parts are parts and pieces are pieces I guess. laughing biggrin laughing

Yeah -- probably should think bigger.
And, hey -- still can have the young-uns hanging with you:

Thanks. The more I read up on them, it looks like the switches with USB will do it for me. Se my post up a few with what I am looking at. Glad to see you out visiting biggrin

Yeah -- I think Miller Brewing is actually making it -- was the bargain beer at the pub at a buck a can!
