I've selected "No New Tasks". When the downloaded tasks are complete, I'll delete the software since it does not seem to be working properly.

To expand on what has been said already, an Inconclusive result will eventually change to either a Valid or an Invalid result. There's only a problem if a lot are changing to Invalid.

To get help on the power management setup there's a couple of big questions that need to be answered:

1. What error? You can get the message by going to the My Grid -> Result Status page and clicking the Error link. The BOINC message log will also be needed to help diagnose the problem.

2. What power management feature? Whether your laptop is going into standby or hibernating or doing some other third thing is important information. Otherwise the stock reply will be to update the power management software.

I had a client years ago that wanted me to support every Windows software program for 150 staff computers. I turned him down because he wouldn't accept 'I don't know' as a reasonable considered answer.
