Is there anyway to keep my cpu from running at 100%? I run both seti and this grid. I have taken either off separately and together. The CPU only runs at 100% for these two projects, whether running alone or at the same time. Any ideas are appreciated. I am however not a computer expert so using words of one syllable would be helpful!!

PRNRN91 --
That is exactly what the grid software is designed to do -- it will use all of the CPU cycles available after real work. Please see http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/join_now/running_the_software.html#99 for further information. Regards, |

ThreadMaster at http://bednorz.uni2.net/anyland/threadmaster/threadmaster.htm is a free utility program that lets you set a maximum cpu utilization. A number of people use it without complaints.
