Is there any intent to allow a user to see the total contribution made to each project? maybe something like the Statistics page but for separate Projects? Maybe make it available after a minimum total days (100) or for a project once the user has contributed minimum days (14/100)?

Yes, it's in the planning. When? don't know. Major rewrite is underway to rip out anything that smacks of UD agent systems.... then other things can be scheduled.

We just need an infinite number of monkeys with an infinite number of typewriters and this would be solved.

The monkey theorem was recently argued as false. Any amount of 'enough' time and you would not even get 1 meaningful line of text. But, the monkey might get smarter.... evolution has it's ways.

Huh? That's obviously not true. The proof is trivial, and will be left as an exercise for the reader.
Have you heard Three Trolls in a Baggie on "What you can do with a large, but finite number of monkeys"? And please, for the sake of my head not exploding, can we avoid a discussion of countable and uncountable infinities? |

On that note, some might find it attractive to discuss the very thing and who knows can the monkeys be chartered to complete Beethoven's Unfinished Piano Trio in F Minor from 1816 too, given enough time

Just to help me understand what is going on behind the scenes, do you think that time frame is the year 2009, 2010 or 2035. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 19, 2008 5:37:24 PM] |

Hi astrolab,
Breaking down individual statistics by project went onto the list when badges were added. My guess is that this will be done after we upgrade to larger servers and DB ver.9 software, so 2009 seems a likely date. Lawrence |

To be precise as to take some speculation away I saw in another thread: The data has always been maintained to the second, point, result exact per user/project. That was the basis to being able to give everyone their badges at program implementation, whenever 14 runtime days contribution (336 runtime/cpu hours) for a project was reached (ACAH was 1 day for phase 1 and what it will be for phase 2 would be sheer speculation).
----------------------------------------If any member thinks to have earned a badge and s/he doesn't see it, it's 99,99999% sure the member has not reached the minimum. Just be patient and crunch or speed things up be selecting a specific project, and crunch. ttyl
