This has been the longest WU that I've run across yet. Just completed faah5008_ 1tcx_ 1b6l_ 00_ 2-- , not to mention running "HIGH PRIORITY" and it took 53.31 hours. Surprisingly enought my results were valid. Must have been some really tuff stuff to crunch for my 4-core 3.3GHZ Xeons.

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=21482 I just checked out my Q6600 crunching FAAH work units.. It's taking 30-50 hours for one work unit.... A bit outrageous. I hope they're going to stop producing these soon. |

Hi Blizzie,
Knreed discovered that the fault was in the algorithm that automatically produced work units from the batches the project scientists sent. It did not properly handle one of the variables. This had not been noticed before, but this batch had a different value for that variable which caused the algorithm to produce large work units. This is just a hiccup, not a policy change. Lawrence |

Thanks for the info, are there any more of these in the queues to be run? Personally, I don't care I get four of these on my quad system to run.. they all need to run.. so if there are more of these.. feel free to hand point some at me... |
