Hey Jonathan. I'm just trying to see how much GB of harddrive space I need for backup for college. My laptop has 320 GB.. But 100 GB is for Vista. So I have around 200 GB for storage. Then I'm going to need something for backup. So how much space do you think I'll need; for everything? Hmm, I would say half a terabyte should cover you, but a full tb is the safest bet. You're going to want to use a lot of BitTorrent, rip movies from your school's library, share music with your friends, and run all that nerd stuff you're so fond of (come on Blizzie, get CStrike like the rest of us!). Tiger Direct has some awesome deals. I was talking more about just schoolwork.. |

Hm.. 320 GB is a lot... Of files. o.O Big projects I suppose. What do you recommend for backup? External harddrive? Is there something that can auto backup to external every night or something? I thought about building a NAS with this computer.. But two 1 TB harddrive in RAID 1 is going to cost me... $300 at minimum. Also I don't know how fast the internet there is. Everything costs money.. and money I don't have. I got my bill for school today. About $4000 a month. ![]() Edit: http://www.freenas.org/index.php?option=com_o...p;Itemid=30&id=sug:en That looks really really really complicated... And I think I would need a static IP for a NAS? Don't got that either. ![]() [Edit 3 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 30, 2008 9:32:13 AM] |
