Hey Jonathan. I'm just trying to see how much GB of harddrive space I need for backup for college.
My laptop has 320 GB.. But 100 GB is for Vista. So I have around 200 GB for storage. Then I'm going to need something for backup. So how much space do you think I'll need; for everything? |

Wow! Faster than I thought: World Community Grid keithhenry MyOnlineTeam 400024.24 1177.05 Seeing numbers roll over like that is fun. A lot like when the odometer in the vehicle does it (should get to see 300000.0 on the truck but that will be next year - still have 27k or so to go). What kind of truck--Igot 335000 out of a Nisson--also i dont know where to insert the little do-hickys [ ] [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 29, 2008 10:08:35 AM] |

You're going to want to use a lot of BitTorrent, rip movies from your school's library, share music with your friends, and run all that nerd stuff you're so fond of (come on Blizzie, get CStrike like the rest of us!). Tiger Direct has some awesome deals. |

Also, at my peril, I solemnly declare that: Windows VISTA is NOT that bad. I mean, it's also not very good, but it's not the total embarrassment I anticipated.

What kind of truck--Igot 335000 out of a Nisson--also i dont know where to insert the little do-hickys [ ] The truck is a '98 Toyota Tacoma V6. Got 240K out of the original clutch. Finally had to replace it. Like with virtually any old vehicle, once something goes and you fix it, more is not far behind. As for your forum signature, click on Forums, My Forum Profile, Change Signature. It all goes in there. Mine looks like this ([] changed to {}): {url=tinyurl.com/btxgg}Join{/url}/{url=myonlineteam.org}Website{/url} {img}tinyurl.com/33gn4h{/img}{img}tinyurl.com/2dhgqj{/img}{img}tinyurl.com/2a9r94{/img} {img}tinyurl.com/3rcddx{/img}{img}tinyurl.com/59maf3{/img}{img}tinyurl.com/2vl5zx{/img} You are limited to 250 characters, thus most tend to use tinyurl.com to shorten things. You give it the full URL and it returns short one like above to use instead. The three lines above correspond to the three lines of text/images in my sig below. There's an Enter (CRLF) at the end of each line. tinyurl.com/33gn4h is for my stat box on DCStat, tinyurl.com/2dhgqj is the US country banner and the next one is the flag. Anyone can use a given tinyurl and get the same thing. You don't have to have one of your own for the flag for example. The third line is the three HOF banners. If you go much beyond the width of three HOF banners, your signature will be wide enough that folks with normal screens like the 14.1s will have to scroll left and right to read each line in a post because the forum software here won't resize any posts on the page it displays any narrower than the widest sig. Make reading posts VERY hard on them and is rather discouraging. When you change your sig, the change is reflected on all your posts, not just new ones. Probably more detail than you needed but it may help others too. |

I guess i'm clueless as to why so many people think Vista sucks? Dr. Mike.. Well, folks love to hate admitted/confessed monopolists. At best, they've come across as arrogant. I think what hurt with VISTA was they rearranged where things are - but that happens with any release - and it sounds like it was more extensive than normal. Also, a lot of device drivers for older pieces of equipment are not being updated to support VISTA so folks are having to replace old printers and such. That doesn't go over well. The big focus on security caused a lot of bad feelings because folks were getting lots of pop ups for "Is this ok?" sort of things as dealing with those settings wasn't common knowledge early on. I just read the other day that IE8 will have a "No tracking mode" or something like that where you can browse but no record is kept - nothing in the history, nothing in the temp internet files, etc so if you're real big on privacy, you'll like that since so many sites track your browsing habits for serving up ads. |
