Sorry to hear about the chair Dave. I hope it has a long warranty. ![]() DM -- don't really need to worry about the warranty since the VA provided it. If it breaks, they will fix it or replace it. I never realized how much my service would mean to me later in life. Makes me glad that I beat the draft (I enlisted, believe it or not). I can honestly say that I very much appreciate your service for our country. I too am a Veteran, although what I did was probably a lot less dangerous (depending on whom you ask). I'm glad to hear positive things about the VA. Most of the time I hear the words "VA" there are usually many 4 letter words accompanying them. Dr. Mike ![]() ![]() |

Enlisted in '68 when I ran out of money for college. I never used any VA benefits (yet). I never much liked Army doctors and my one encounter with an Army dentist was horrifyng!!! Keep dry Gerald ... Fey is still hugging the coast. I see the 200 mill result was returned ... it was not me. The great weater continues here. 30 cores running. ![]() ![]() |

DM -- we went in about the same time. I enlisted on March 13, 1968, but didn't go active until July 21 (delayed entry program). I arrived in 'Nam on May 1, 1969 (that date, incidentally, was the date of the highest US troop count of the war). Was assigned to Btry C, 2/13th Artillery and we were at Fire Support Base Thunder 4 on Highway 13 near An Loc (about 65 miles N of Saigon and close to Cambodia). Our Batallion deactivated and I left Vietnam on Friday, March 13, 1970. Arrived in Oakland later the same (very long) day and was discharged. |

I can supply a few choice 4 letter words for the VA too, but, on the other hand, they have provided a lot of care for me over the past 5 years. You just have to remember to "hurry up and wait" as we all were so well trained to do in the service. |

Brentney tells me that the local congressperson's office is a great place to turn when you need help with the VA. Apparently they can really expedite your requests. |

Jonathan -- I'm sure that might be of help when getting a claim for disability processed, but waiting is big time at the VA. A 1:30 appointment becomes 3:30, but, the price is always right! |
