Got a few and noticed on the graphics that the revolving protein target is not rotatable with the mouse? Is that an AutoDock science exclusive?

Sek, I just double checked the code we use to do the rotation and it's the same as what was used in FA@H. So it should be able to to be "grabbed" by left clicking the mouse and holding down. Does the molecule properly rotate?

I recieved 2 betas and the molecule rotate, but I can't "grab" it. FA@H works great anyway. I have BOINC 6.2.14.

Yes, rotating fine showing nice and glossy after a few seconds warm up and tried, the south paw that I am, with right button too (I use mouse right handed though with right hand config).... no go.

Howdy,
This is a confirmed bug...we have tested on our machines here and it's not working...This is considered a minor bug at the moment. It is possible that a setting was not compiled properly during the build. The good news about it only being in the graphics is that we don't have to recompile the main application to fix this issue. Thank you for your feedback on the beta. -Uplinger |

The claim for the first 4 HPF2 Betas is pretty amazing, all running exactly the same time, to 1/100th exact.

Sekerob, there are coincidences which are too beautiful to be true. In your case I have a strong feeling that your machine has crunched four times the same material hidden under a (very slight) make-up.
---------------------------------------- Bad luck for the purpose of betas... Cheers. Jean. |

Sek,
The lv900 means they are part of the same gene. Thus it is likely that you encounter runs with similar run times. The problem you should see is when the application hits a non deterministic loop within the code that could take it down other paths which extend the run time. This happens if it finds something with a certain range. For example if the application hits one into the out field it doesn't preform additional calculations. If it bunts one, it runs those additional calculations due to it being closer to home for the answer with greater probability of being correct. Jm, This beta is to test mainly that the change to the BOINC 6 API works properly with the science code. There aren't any changes to the scientific code so giving it a wide range of genes is not needed. -Uplinger |
