I recently joined WCG anew and ran several tasks of the "Nutricious Rice" project.
A run of this project takes normally 8 hours on my machine and it shows in the table when validated i.g. 95.7/85.0 for points credited/earned Another run from somebody else on the same project also takes 8 hours to run and shows 191.5/ 259.7 as points credited/earned. Can somebody explain to me why a task that takes 8 hours to run on one machine earns so much more points than on my machine? ![]() |

Hi Jaap,
----------------------------------------there are several threads in this forum explaining this. 1. Run time is for all 8 hours fixed 2. The more work (seeds) are completed in 8 hours, the more points (faster machines do more). 3. The points per job is determined by taking the seed claim average for the quorum (first 10 valid jobs returned) and multiplying them with the number of seeds in a job. Yours thus looks like claiming more credit based on the benchmark your computer has than it can complete seeds in 8 hours. For more info, see those other referred threads. cheers
