Curious about extra assignments for a Rice Project.

I noticed that I got a short deadline assignment R00053_559cdee63c9de95322e3bafeddae61b7_03_001 for the rice project and decided to investigate out of curiosity.

What I noticed via the result status page is that there are the following:

10 results already valid
9 in progress - in initial replication
10 new workloads that were all assigned and have short deadlines
No errors or invalid results.

I checked, the short deadlines were sent out 19:43 or later today. All 10 results that returned arrived before 19:43.

This leads to a question: Since the minimum quorum was already met, why send out additional assignments? Was there something special about this one or is an experiment being run?

Still waiting for my rice badge - if I counted correctly - six more rice jobs (including this one) needs to be done by my computer so not long now...

There was a bug that was released with the updates for single validation for FightAIDS@Home and Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together.

It was causing all results to be marked as error. Fortunately, we could (and did) fix it and correctly reprocess those results.

However, we were not able to prevent the extra results from being sent out before the problem could be addressed. As a result there are some extra results for the Rice process being run.
