Question concerning Boinc results (using Boinc stats) ...

A Team Mate asked me about the new Boinc stats I had posted from Free-DC Stats. It's *all* Boinc stats now over there.

It looks like they give credit for all the results but do not give points for all of the results

How do I explain this? coffee

Blank.... BOINC gives credits for validated work and that is what gets updated. In principle what you see as credit in the client is what you see at BOINCstats, not more not less, so we need a worked out example of what is thought to be the difference.

Re: Question concerning Boinc results (using Boinc stats) ...

Just looked at my own and there is an ever so slight difference between client cumulative for WCG and what shows at BOINCstats, but that's timing and frequency of update over the 3rd party statistics sites. Funny is, that for today I'm showing @ BOINCStats to have generated 1,717 credit since last stats update. I did according WCG about 900 equivalent midday.

AND since there is no more UD agent generated points, it's save to take the daily stats number from the My Grids page, divvy it by 7 to come to see what the agent shows.... until the My Grid page starts showing BOINC credits directly.

Possibly, if looking in the clients, that stats tab in there are the localised clock aligned dailies. The websites show dailies per UTC.

Anyone else, feel free to jump in.... it's an area, the external stats, that have little personal appeal to me.

So, I jump!
Sek, I think Johnny is talking of Boinc stats in Free-DC stats, not in BoincStats. Thus I presume that when he says (using Boinc stats) in the title he means "what to do with them?".

Johnny, I have never used Free-DC but from what I have read in a recent thread credits acquired with Boinc are collected and cumulated automatically, but regarding points acquired with the old UD agent you have to register in Free-DC to get them collected. In fact that is the reason why I don't use this site: not only because of the needed registration but because you can compare your achievements only with other registered Free-DC users, not with all other members.

Please do not hesitate to rephrase your questions if I am off-topic too. smile

Cheers. Jean.
