Opt in option

I am pleased to see an opt in to new projects option. This is much better than being automatically being included in new projects whether you support the new project or not.

However, it does still not fully address the issue. I have left this unchecked, as if checked, I would still not know which projects the machine was working on unless I came back to check the settings on the website - and how often would I need to check? I cannot tell in advance.

I want to be able to leave WCCGrid in unattend mode (why would we want to run it in any other way), and only interfere if I am unhappy with what it is doing on my machine.

So, then to the request, may we have, in addition to the opt me in check box, a second notify me of all new projects to which I am automatically opted in? An email to that effect would be good, with a link to the options page, so that if I wish to deselect the new project I may do so. Please?

Thank you

Re: Opt in option

Hi,

Sounds like a winning suggestion to me (not giving the yadah yadah on how to find out or know, since "Set and Forget" is indeed how it ideally should be and the notification mail creating the member side buzz in hopes of hime/her attracting new members).

cheers

Re: Opt in option

The regular newsletter sent by World Community Grid describes new projects in detail. If they isn't timely enough for you, then subscribing to the Member News feed will inform you of new projects the day they launch, together with occasional other important news.

Re: Opt in option

No promises, but we are going to try to be more timely about sending newsletters announcing each project that we launch shortly after the launch (not 6 months later like we did this past time).
