Read This Thread for on-going details..
However in summary it would appear that there is some method of taking over a Boinc Team on ANY project.....except WCG at the moment. If you are considering changing to the 'standard' BOINC type team please take into consideration what is happening, maybe, elsewhere! Thanks |

It would 'seem' that the guy trawled around all the Boinc teams looking for 'defunct' ones, esp when the Capt had moved, then applied for the job, got it, changed the Team name and threw out all the 'old' members, then all the points accrued to his Boinc-wide team....if true, nice scam and one wonders if the main Boinc 'leaders' will re-think their team policy.
It is nice that WCG does have a method of changing the Captain, but changing the team name and removing members is not an option for the captain, so we are safe here at the moment....let's hope we keep it that way until the 'Boinc problem' if any, is solved. Alan |
