I'm trying not to break things, but soon I will be needing to send another group of invites to the next round of league competition at WCG_SPORTS. I’m just trying to hold off a bit until the emails can be fixed.

A quick fix would be to not use a name. Just say "Captain". The letter could read something like this example:



It will avoid the issue until you have the time to plug back the personalization, if at all. The rational is simple. If you are a captain here at WCG and you don’t know the name of your team, you shouldn't be one.

A better use of time would be to create a Team Challenge email system that would allow some limited communications regarding the race. At first, all that is needed is to send a follow up email, if they accept the challenge that is custom for each race. It would be sent to all the captains in the challenge by the creating captain. It would contain info that would help keep team captains on the same page, as the races need to become more complex.

But more so, for you, it would provide an environment to allow growth of the challenge system before you have to be involved. Making it so you don’t have to spend really any time researching this matter. The processes that are found to work well by those in competition, you can assume after the fact. Making it much easier to justify any time spent this way in the future. As it is easier to walk a proven path, than to take a stab in the dark.
