Re: .

Some coffee on Mansion.
Spend Sunday on lecture about bar and restaurant culture on Viipuri before WWII.

Some background data:
Viipuri was Finnish city until 1944. It was different on that matter that it did have high economical yields but not really any industry. It was city of trade, commerce and fine services. Kind of Las Vegas of Finland.

Lecturer was born there and his patre did draw many building on city. He (patre) was obviously part of city's social life, so there was lot pictures that you do not often see. There was nice pictures about gentleman's raising toast on private clubs etc, which probably was not most easiest target during prohibition etc.

Lecturer himself did have stories that would go just fine on Indiana Jones movies.
He told that after city fall as part of CCCP, soviets did not aloud coats of arms on walls of Round Tower and he was asked to remove those. They did not touch those, instead build false wall clever enough to camouflage shields through soviet time. Same grand old chap was also asked to reconstruct very same shield after soviet-time. With ½ day of work, he was able to hand over requested work biggrin

Re: .

That is sure some rock climbing equipment you have there. Hope you do not need to use it much in the winter.
Old man winter is starting to rear his head here. A week ago we got about an inch of snow, but it melted pretty quickly as the ground is warm yet. Finally had a killing frost this past week. That is about a good three weeks later than normal. Looks like November already, but the ground is soft from all the rain we have been getting. Less than 1/2 of the crops have been harvested, but that might speed up now that the frost has come.
Hope your healing is going well.
Cheers

Thank you Joe!

Need to consider some another hobby, like stamps or aquarium tongue

Probably I would made through famines on past centuries without paying much attention on those.
