All important LINUX client thread

So when will the Linux (especially an SMP Linux capable) client be out. We're wasting away with time and unutalized CPU cycles! ;-)

cool Re: All important LINUX client thread

The Linux X86 client is due in 2005, as is explained in http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=1125
There will be (some) advance warning. Don’t expect it to be a copy of the current UD program being used for Windows. [Big Grin] If the WCG staff start making vaporware predictions long before it goes into Beta, I will wonder if they ever worked for IBM before being assigned to the World Community Grid. Don't expect a lot of advance hints.

Re: All important LINUX client thread

Victoria,

Please use the HELP button, and/or forum search utility to try to answer your questions before starting another thread. There are already 659 posts regarding WCG on Linux, and this same question has been answered over and over.

In addition, there is a FAQ on the question as well. I realize the Help system is not ideal, but we are working hard to make it easier to find things. If you look through the Help and Forum search and cannot answer your question, then our tireless Community Admins and Techs are (clearly) more than happy to help.

Thanks,
Nels
