I just noticed when going through my result list that one WU has an odd amount of credit granted:
R00007_ 231bc6b055c9e2fe00798ad3fc0bf97b_ 22_ 11-- doug-demosss-im ac.local Valid 05/20/2008 07:09:04 05/24/2008 15:49:19 8.03 143.0 / 19.6 Most WUs are at least reasonably close (well, not Human Proteome, which doesn't seem to like me, but all the other projects, including Nutritious Rice), but this one stands out for some reason. I'm mostly just curious what happened there. |

hmmm, thought we had those behind us, but maybe not. Please visit the event log by visiting that Result Status line you posted and clicking in the status column on the 'Valid' link.
----------------------------------------Discussed here first.... http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/printpost?post=167167 If the below lines appear a good way into the log, the question is Vista? and what security software? Effectively, you only got credit for the seeds after the error occurred. [ERROR] Failed to open either source or destination files while copying ../../projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/R00005_92258514c5131c66184265d1c1a66f4f_19_6_0 to wcg_checkpoint_00.ckp. Error: 24 [ERROR] Failed to copy workfile '../../projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/R00005_92258514c5131c66184265d1c1a66f4f_19_6_0' to checkpoint file 'wcg_checkpoint_00.ckp'. I've got almost nothing but misery on Vista, but ONLY for this project and after the first weeks running perfectly fine. A Beta test was run a few days ago so hopefully, we hear soon why they happen.

If the below lines appear a good way into the log, the question is Vista? and what security software? Effectively, you only got credit for the seeds after the error occurred. The answers are No and No (other than the built-in firewall). My Mac is thankfully immune to the Vista virus, and I haven't seen any Mac viruses for that matter since 1991. If it matters, the WU was created on 5/19 - perhaps the problem has already been taken care of. |

Irrespective of the No and No, did you look in the Result Log? If of 5/19, yes that was fixed with version 6.15 per this post.

Yes, I saw those messages in the Result Log. Sorry for not mentioning that.
Thanks for the info! Just one suggestion: if it's possible to put the application version somewhere in the log (I'm rather surprised it isn't already there) or even in the WU data we can see via the Web site, that would help us crunchers figure those things out. I tried to figure out what version was running at the time and couldn't find any trace of it. |

Thought it many times, suggested it, but if you suggest it too in the S&F forum that may help to further the idea.
----------------------------------------There is a FAQ where we keep the current versions info with revision date for all sciences and platforms: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=10301. Now a beaut for you. Use BOINCview (3rd party tool). It logs all completed jobs and the science version it was done with. Very easy filtering. ciao [added: BV needs to run on a Widows machines, but can see any BOINC client on any OS in a LAN/WAN environment.]
