Notice that after 6 or so minutes I got a computation error. I am running this on a core 2 duo XP machine with SP3 installed.

Can you provide the error log? Sure, can you tell me where to find it on my XP based machine? |

Hi,
----------------------------------------See the FAQ "BOINC: Message & Error Log Reporting " which is rarely consulted looking at the hit count of 209 since created 8 months ago. Just select the 'error' link in the status column to get the log.

As you can see from the directory listing all of the files referenced in the FAQ are old relative to this problem.
Volume in drive C has no label. Volume Serial Number is 6806-ABBD Directory of C:\Program Files\BOINC 10/22/2007 03:35 AM 15,426 stderrdae.txt 06/02/2008 03:34 PM 63,912 stderrgui.txt 05/22/2008 07:45 AM 2,097,261 stdoutdae.old 05/31/2008 10:19 PM 201,463 stdoutdae.txt 05/21/2008 04:29 PM 290,841 stdoutgui.txt 5 File(s) 2,668,903 bytes 0 Dir(s) 6,239,735,808 bytes free Is there another place I should be looking? |

See (just added) supplemental info to the FAQ for the specific Result error log location.

Thanks for helping me find the error data.
Here it is: Result Log <core_client_version>5.10.45</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1) </message> <stderr_txt> wcg_seed 80919557 running time: 83.937500 wcg_seed 951054486 running time: 141.671875 wcg_seed 309530271 could not open file best1.pdb </stderr_txt> ]]> |

Does look very similar to the sample in the FAQ does it not?
----------------------------------------The techs are working on it i was told in the backroom. Currently only happens to me on a Vista client, totally random. Some run through some don't and crash always on the first attempt to access the best1.pdb file within a few minutes from start. On my XP clients I've excluded the \slots\x data subdirectories in the Comodo AV from being scanned which ended the problem on those, but it continues on the one machine.

It does look like the one in the FAQ, imagine that.
Thanks for all of your help. I will just avoid running NFW, one this machine but not my other where it works, for a while. |
