When I attempt to capture text information from the status history web page, the text is not recognized by simple text editors or MSWord.
Is there a copy method that allows the status record to be stored in a text-recognizable format? I've tried printing the page to pdf, but the text visible in the pdf still copies as block characters (notepad) or lines (word). RL |

Hello legg,
I tried Global Statistics - Global Statistics History and My Grid - My Statistics History. Both pages copied as a list of numbers into OpenOffice. Normally blocks of text like that do best when copied into a spreadsheet or into a custom template in a word processor program. Lawrence |

I find if at all copying with Table2Clipboard on Firefox very handy to get lists of numbers across into e.g. a spreadsheet.
----------------------------------------but, do you want to do that when we have all these RSS feeds to capture the personal and wcg global stats (see Start Here forum). e.g. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/rss?feed=member&userName=legg

For some reason, I have no trouble just copying text raw off the web page today. It's possible that I didn't try this first - having had no luck doing this earlier on the BOINC site pages at Berkeley.
Just what the PDF printer is doing, to complicate things, I have no idea. I apologize for raising the non-issue. RL |
