I downloaded version 5.10.45 and everytime I start my computer the agent is shown and is not even centered.
----------------------------------------I have to move it to minimize it...(or click on icon on taskbar).... how annoying. My question is how do I make it start minimized, or do I have to revert back to the version that DOES NOT HANG like this version does? If this question is somewhere else in the forums I couldn't find it... no matter which search 'words' I used I ended up with the same results. This thread seems to be misplaced, as I assume you're using BOINC.
Normally the agent does start minimised (unless you start it manually), so something is wrong. What operating system do you have? Your comment about hanging worries me, too. BOINC should not hang. Please will you give as much further information as you can. |

Yes its BOINC,
I am using Windows XP, pro Sp2 it only hangs when I run seti at home and let the screen saver run I put the 'icon' in the all users start up folder. since it wasn't starting (on start up) like the previous version did. Posted in wrong place,,,,sorry... Thanks |

I see it is the wrong thread.... I guess my mind was set on UD since I just up graded 2 other systems to boinc from that... (and both those systems also are win xppro with sp2 and the agent also does not start 'minimized' on them either.)

Okay, I think I can solve your problem.
There is an option during the installation that asks if you want to start at startup. That will do everything automatically for you. Doing it manually works, too - but you didn't set it to minimise on startup. Go to the startup link. Right click, select "Properties". The target will say: "C:\Program Files\BOINC\boincmgr.exe" Change this to: "C:\Program Files\BOINC\boincmgr.exe" /s Lastly, set "Run" to "Minimised". |
