Hi all,
----------------------------------------I think that this subject was discussed before in some forum, but I can't found it to read more deeply. My question is: Do you know if the new BOINC agent release will provide an update path to automatically change the old releases ? Just from my point of view, once I have dozens of installations to pay attention, will be much more easy and simple if WCG/BOINC provide me a kind of button or a check box (maybe inside My Profile), to download and update automatically BOINC Agents in old installations. Think about this demand, if make sense for you (once I believe that will help a lot many crunchers in similar situations), please submit this suggestion to WCG/BOINC administration. Regards. Giba. ![]()

No.
Often requested, never fully implemented. |

The Start Here FAQ on agent versions spends a few words on this which is No. The Alpha test clients show nothing and as the Berkeley site is down can't check if it has made in into the planned '6' feature list. Think not.
----------------------------------------The only thing that is in place is a push of a message from Berkeley to active client to tell that there is a new BY THEM recommended release. WCG will watch from the back benches, to see if it is really fit for production.

I've got an in-depth email from Kevin Reed that talks about this. Part of it speaks about the migration plans. I can send it to you somewhere, Rob. Just contact me through the usual channels. (You've got a PM on the BOINC forums)
