I just got the following article in an RSS feed. From BusinessWeek.
----------------------------------------http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/...ampaign_id=rss_topStories So I took the opportunity to put in a comment plugging WCG. We should all be doing this for as many projects as we can. >>RSM |

Cool!!
----------------------------------------Here is a link to a great article that you can send to your friends, colleagues, relatives... http://www.mycentraljersey.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...520/HEALTH/805200311/1040 This is an article I found in my little old home town newspaper which does a great job in selling people on the idea of crunching. >>RSM |

The Austin Texas American-Statesman had this article this morning. It was written by a local reporter, Kirk Ladendorf.
----------------------------------------Austin WCG article Pictures in the article were of Viktors of IBM, the Rice screen and the HPF2 screen. If other papers pick it up, there could be more elsewhere tomorrow.

This is really terrific. Pictures and everything!!
----------------------------------------Send the link to your friends, relatives, any likely candidates. The more common press, newspapers like this one, and business magazines, are getting this. The computer writers seem to be dead from the neck up. I have personally been badgering Mossberg at the WSJ, Pogue at the NYT, Wildstrom at BW, And the editors of PC Mag and PC World, all to no avail. So, if you see an article about a BOINC or WCG project and BOINC and/or WCG are not noted, go after that guy. The fact that now a number of articles are being done right, and they are all about WCG, indicates that IBM's PR machine is behind it. No one is going to make a penny out of the research, and the knowledge will remain in the public domain; but IBM is using this activity to build its credibility in "cloud" computing, where Google and H.P are also competing for a major footprint. Let's keep it up folks. Thanks for this notice. I printed the article and I am hanging it prominently in my office. >>RSM |
