Bonic keeps asking for account key and user name and password not working!

Can't get bonic to work, tried and tried and no go, oh well I guess you just lost a computer to someone else.

I keep getting invalid or missing account key. When I try the account keys on the site they don't work either for some reason. I'm also with Seti and haven't had this problem.

You should only need your username and password.

You haven't told us what version of BOINC or what operating system, so my instructions are generic:

1. Detach from World Community Grid (on the projects tab)
2. Reattach to World Community Grid (Tools ->Attach to project).
3. Enter your username and password.

I did what you said and the project downloaded the required files.

I tried reinstalling Bonic itself and went through the registration process without success a number of times.

My question is by detaching and reattaching the project itself resolve this login issue?
Are others having this problem?
Is this a upgrade issue from the earlier version?
I'm using WinXP and Bonic v5.10.45.

Reinstalling BOINC doesn't affect the program state - it is important to keep your work in progress if you upgrade. That's why reinstalling doesn't work, unless you go to the trouble of wiping everything and doing a clean install.

But in your case, detaching was enough to remove the problem.
