Thread: Linux Boinc manager requires 6 letter password, while mine is only 5 letters long. |

Hello,
I moved my Desktop from Win to Linux. So I wanted to install BOINC agent for WCG on Linux. I downloaded the boinc_ubuntu_5.10.45_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh and run /home/user/Desktop/BOINC/run_manager After selecting the WCG from list it ask for my username and password. So I entered it and I got this message: The minimum password length for this project is 6. Please enter a different password. But my password is 5 letters long. Now I have to change my password, so it has 6 letters only because of this ? I think this is bug in boinc manager. Could I sent this somewhere as bug ? |

No, it's no bug, but it was an out of step between WCG and the rest of the BOINC world.

Password Format Requirements: Projects History6 characters minimum (alphanumeric: A-Z, a-z, 0-9) Projects History15 characters maximum Projects HistoryNo "special" characters (!@#$%^&*_+=:;, etc...)
