mosquito killer: clapper device

hat do u think of the idea : a device that has 2 cushions backed by some plastic that claps every few seconds ... and hopefully kills mosquitoes in time, when they randomly fly in the clap range.

the cushions are so the device does not make noise.

a better model would change its position and a top end would have a sensor to sense moquitoes and clap only when they are near.

i dont have actual design but it would be a neat product. someone make it and give me lifetime free ones for the idea!

Re: mosquito killer: clapper device

Our wire mash electrical zappers with the luring blue light are much more reliable. Most meat / food shops and restaurants have them here. It's less appetizing when a big one gets in and the sizzling goes on for a few seconds, but it's better than the thud and mechanical frailty.

The Ozzies started to sell the electric swat some years ago and they finally made it here and through the CE testing (sigh). Now you hold it over one, and soon it takes off, it gets the thrill of its shortened life.

Me, I could not hurt a fly, but part from malaria, zanzare spread lots more deceases like dengue that WCG members are slowly crunching on.... it's hard to suppress primal reflexes laughing

Re: mosquito killer: clapper device

This time of year in New Hampshire( and other places) the black flies and mosquitoes are out in force and they are hungry.
Walk out the door and all they see is a walking talking 22 course meal.
We have a nice little remedy for these pests that pretty cheap and easy to use.
Get a pump spray bottle with a fairly fine mist head and fill it with spearment Listerine mouthwash. The Spearment smells better than the orginal but the orginal works just as well
If your having company for an outdoor BBQ,etc go out a couple hours before and spray all the chairs, tables, trees in the area.
Will drive the little buggers right into your neighbors yard. laughing
You can also spray it over your hair or clothing and no ill effects.
Great for backpackers also.
Now I am clueless as to who thought this up and I'm not claiming credit but it does work "the nuts" as my generation used to say..
Try it, you'll like it! biggrin
