Only in the last few days all of my devices have started reporting

If so, 2 seems way too low for clients running 24x7 and doing jobs that take 6-8 hours or less? [Edit 1 times, last edit by TKH at May 12, 2008 12:38:42 PM] |

This typically means you have been returning invalid work. The server restricts the amount of work it sends to you because it knows you will fail to do it.
You can verify this by looking at your work unit statuses on the Results Status page. Please check, then we will be able to talk about solving the problem. |

The "all of my devices" in the plural is suspiciously pointing at security software mangling or something similar. What got changed / updated when the problem started?

Some time ago I set my Additional Work Buffer to 3 days. This led to me cancelling a number of jobs prior to going on leave, and jobs that started but had not completed after a PC was shut down for the weekend. I've set it back to 1 day and after a few days the problem resolved itself. I have not seen this message since. Cheers! |

Cancelling waiting jobs will not get you in as much trouble as cancelling jobs that are running.
----------------------------------------Instead of waiting until late and doing a cancelling binge, it is possible to hit the "no new tasks" button earlier and drain the queue before leaving.
