i had been happily running boinc wcg for ages on suse 10 , thought i would try the new ubuntu, iiy did not work , maybe bad ISO disk? anyway finally got computer working with suse 10.3 but every time i reboot it loses wcg project arghh ...

Loses in what way? the wcg project disappears, i open boinc but no project attached. thus no work units of course.. |

There must be a smarter way, but I would uninstall the old BOINC, then reinstall. Lawrence |

Please identify how you installed Boinc, what user is running the service, what directories are used, and what, if any, logs are produced.
----------------------------------------Normal installation uses the root user, but sets boinc as the user for the service. This can cause a permission problem if you don't reset the ownership and access. Please ensure that the directory your service script specifies is the same directory you used to setup the original WCG project. Also, SuSE seems to prefer that you go into 'yast2->system->system services' and enable the boinc service, if it isn't already, so it can verify it is setup correctly. |
