It appears that a number of people have been shipped 'non-convergent work units'. Since these tie up the resources to no good effect, is there a plan to avoid sending these tasks out?
I searched in the forums and found a 'workaround' solution: 'end process' the Rosetta task (not the ud.exe task). 'Restart' occurs with another work unit. But how am I to know that I won't get another of these (sometime over the weekend when everything is automatic, no doubt)? I think it would be nice if some statement were issued on the WCG FAQ pages, either explaining what happened (if it is a glitch) and reassuring us that it won't happen again, or (if it is unavoidable) warning everyone what to do about it. [Incidentally, the correct term would probably be 'divergent', but I think it is simply a bug. 'Fess up ] |

I have passed your concern on to the World Community Grid technical staff. Hopefully one of them will be able to respond today. |
