Hello,
I was wondering why I don't get any work for AfricanClimate@Home. My dlspeed is 3412kbps and my ulspeed is 314kbps. Is it because my speeds aren't high enough or just that there isn't any work? greetings, helos |

Hi,
----------------------------------------the project is virtually finished. There were never more than a few hundred per day to go out on a total of 250,000 - 300,000 that WCG sends out for the total of it's projects. Sorry

Hi Helos,
----------------------------------------maybe you can get some WU yet, but as SEKEROB mentioned just few WU's will be available until the finish. There are a lot threads and posts describing ways to get AC@H WU's in this forum, so you can read about it or simply follow the steps below... * First set your machine just to receive AC@H WU's in WCG My projects page view. * Second set your Boinc client preferences to have additional work buffer days than you have in WU's running right now with any project (you can set at most to 10 days of work). * Third set your Boinc client preferences to connect WCG with more frequency, for example 0.02 days (up to you). For sure this procedure do not guarantee that you will get WU's, but will increase your chances. It works for me. Good lucky ! Giba.
Cheers ! GIB@

I was wondering why I don't get any work for AfricanClimate@Home. And you have not found any clue in the threads which are immediately following yours now at the top of the AC@H forum section index? In addition to the low number of distributed WUs and to the project being close to its end you must know that Boinc is measuring download and upload performance from the start command to the acknowledged finished per file, so if you are usually processing projects with very small files and /or if your route to the servers is not as efficient as you would expect the measured throughputs might be much lower than the rating of your line. Have no regrets and keep on crunching! Cheers. Jean. |
