Hi ,, I have been a member for some time recently ... trying to share their expenses with those people that will in the end pay for their products. If you search deaper into those non-profit organizations .... You will see that they dont mention any public research whatsoever only sponsored and governement funded research. .... That is medicaly tested drug that prolong life of terminal lung cancer patients which is now being sold freely to the market. YES IT IS AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC but follow this link to see at what prices. .... I dislike opening old wounds but . . . . . I have been trying to find out if the WCG is a " 501(C)(3) " organization (in the U. S.) for tax purposes but apparently no one has asked the question. So, I do here ! An organization does not have to be a 501(C)(3) for tax reasons but it sure helps in the short and long run for tax deductions/decisions here in the U. S.. Since I am an individual and have six systems runing 27/7 for several years now, have limited income, recently had to pay income taxes to the tune of several hundred dollars over the usual day to day taxes, and want to buy a new computer system but recent inflationary prices have hit hard. I sure would like a reasonable general answer/guidance to the tax exemption question from someone. Just reasonable, no liabilities involved. PaulT |

No, it isn't. It's explained clearly in the "About" and "Help" pages: World Community Grid is operated as part of IBM.
WCG is not run for profit, but it isn't a charity, either. |
