Hi ,, I have been a member for some time recently i promoted the grid on my poker forum and got some flack concerning the validity of given your time to the project by a fellow member,, here is a copy of his first attack at the grid what are your thoughts,,,,,,,,,"It is not scam but it is not SETI also. It seems to me when i looked at research projects they are doing at this time that all those projects are researched by non-profit organizations that receive funds from sponsors and mostly governments.
While i dont have nothing against finding a cure for those diseases i do have something (multiply this by lets say million) against for-profit organizations trying to share their expenses with those people that will in the end pay for their products.

If you search deaper into those non-profit organizations you will find members of various investment corporations in Board of Trustees, non-profit organizations Board of Directors, and if you really want i could try to digg deeper and see if any of those Investment corporations are owners or have their share in any of the for-profit research institutes related to research subjects of those non-profit organizations.
Another thing about these non-profit organizations is that they are used as bridges to suck out money from country/state budget and make them available to for-profit organizations as if they were their own. Which should not be done because if you receive money to invest in research for some disease from public budget, results from that research should be available to public and not sold to the public. This way for-profit organizations can say we never received any money from state government and they can claim patent in its entirety, and make huge profits by doing so.

SETI@home was project started when US government decided that it is not profitable to pay for that project and researchers came up with idea to process data they collect on peoples PC`s because funding was significantly decreased and they had to cut costs. Ok follow this. Go to world community home page. There are projects that are curently being researched. Click on more info about project and there will be a name of another non-profit organization which has actually initiated the research from world community. Go to home page of that institution, ive used aids research program because it is US based organization and has more info than french one on their site, and look at board of trustees and sponsors on Scripps research institute and you will find basic financial statement on their page too. You will see that they dont mention any public research whatsoever only sponsored and governement funded research.

This is run in cooperation with Ontario cancer institute. Go to ontario cancer institute and youll see that they are part of UHN (University health network). Dont stop there but search throught site which is all marketing or go to this newsletter link directly and look in section 5 of that newsletter or seaerch for term "Tarceva".
