I'm going on holiday in the near future.
Using the Boinc client I have one unit finished waiting to be uploaded and another just started to be processed. I can see that there is time enough to finish this unit. But I don't want to receive a new unit because it can't be finished before the time limit. Is there a way I can tell that I don't want to receive a new unit after finishing the unit that is currently being processed ? Of course I want the two units should be uploaded to the server before shutting down my PC. |

On the "Projects" tab of the BOINC client, simply select the World Community Grid project and select the "No new tasks" option from the left pane. Your current unit will continue processing and will be uploaded to WCG but you will not receive any new work.

The "Vacation" button for crunchers is called "No New Tasks" and can be found in the Projects tab of the BOINCmgr Advanced View.

Of course I want the two units should be uploaded to the server before shutting down my PC. If one unit is still visible as "Ready to report" when you are ready to shut down your PC simply click the "Update" button from the "Projects" tab to force the reporting (after selecting the WCG line if necessary). Then, have a good holiday. Jean. ![]() |
