Seems there might be a problem with the stats as normally the global stats show about 50,000 results per day but there were only about 2500 for yesterday. Anyone know of any outstanding problems?

Glad to see I was not the only one to spot this. The stats are correct. It was run more than an hour late so it caught some of the results returned on 22 Feb, which is today, not yesterday, Doneske. They are changing the software running on the server. Sounds like they are preparing for more frequent statistics updates. [Grin]

I've noticed other problem with the stats.
Currently, When I check stats by region, I'm there with my points of 142,941. The stats were aparently update at 00:06 UTC ... I then check my device listing, and pasting this in excel, it adds up to 133,639! I check I was viewing ALL divices of ALL time etc, and the stats for this page were aparently updated at 00:06 UTC also. So how can these figures be different ? |

Exie,
You might be spotting a real bug in the statistics. Could you recheck this, then create a document with the figures and send it in to be looked at? Try to include all the information you have and keep in mind that the server is being upgraded with service pack 3, so people might be too busy to get back to you for a while, but that will get a printout on somebody's desk for eventual consideration. Hi,
I do apologise, I did make an error in my calculation, I left off one of the PC's which was on the Grid earning points. However, after re-capturing the information, it still doents appear to add up. By my calculation, all the hosts now add upto 142939 However everywhere else my account has 142941 2 points appear to have come from nowhere ?! (Not that I'm complaining, I need all the help I can get! haha) Could this be a rounding issue perhaps ? |

I first noticed this on my points total back in December and inquired about it (see http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=766#3222). Now, 3 months later the difference remains at about 2 points. |

You are correct - there is a slight rounding error that exists. The basic reason behind this is that the points created by the UD software is decimal and the points that we have on the website are integers. As such - small errors do creep up.

As such - small errors do creep up. They creep back out too. About 6 weeks ago I had a one-point discrepancy and the next work unit took almost two weeks to complete, so the discrepancy was there the whole time. When the unit was done, the one point difference was gone too...As of today, about one month later, they started disagreeing by one point again...I really spend too much time paying attention to these things
