Is there a good explanation of the graphics of FAaH? It seems to be clear that the big window shows the molecule that is being tested and the round window on the lefthand side shows a red and a green curve, the red one seems to be the optimum and the green one somehow connected to the calculated results.
BUT what do the arrows in the big window mean? and the crosses in the top-left one? And what does the curve mean exactly? And I have another question, have any good drugs been found by FAaH or are we computing without even the slightest hint at possible HIV-blocking drugs? I personally never heard news like "new HIV-drug found by FightAIDS@home project".. but you don't hear much about AIDS in first world countries, anyway... |

Hello m763,
The project FAQ explains a similar graphic for the old UD client: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/projects_sh...FaahFaq.do?shortName=faah FAAH is screening drug candidates 'in silico'. The good ones are marked for later investigation 'in vitro' in the lab. Read about it in the newsletters listed on the top of this page: http://fightaidsathome.scripps.edu/ Lawrence |
