OK, try a detach from WCG.
----------------------------------------Go to your BOINC directory (or wherever WCG's client is installed, \BOINC Data\ ?) Check that you have an account_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml file. If you do, rename it or delete it. Open BOINC Manager and reattach to WCG. Does that fix things?

I have the exact same problem, checked my profile, updated it, detached WCG and checked the XML file, reattached and still I a getting: 30.03.2008 17:42:40|World Community Grid|Message from server: Invalid or missing account key. Well the steps of Jord should resolve that:
----------------------------------------1. Detach WCG from BOINC (advanced view, project tab, select WCG and Detach button in left margin) 2. Exit BOINC 3. Rename/Delete the Account.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml file 4. Restart BOINC 5. Reattach WCG from the picklist and type membername/password (advanced menu in advanced view > attach to project > pick WCG) The accountkey can be found in the My Grid > My Profile page.

Been there, done that. Twice now, to no avail. I checked the account key, and that is the same as in the XML file that gets created on attaching the project. Funny, SETI@Home runs nicely...
Maybe create a new account, reinstall BOINC and try again??? |

Something odd happened yesterday. I think some new accounts got corrupted.
Reattaching worked for everyone else reporting this problem. You can either try a new account, or wait for a response from the grid techs (probably not until Monday). |

Oh, right. It's a weekend.
----------------------------------------Been there, done that. Twice now, to no avail. I checked the account key, and that is the same as in the XML file that gets created on attaching the project. Funny, SETI@Home runs nicely... Strange. All you should have to do is to keep the same BOINC out there and just get new projects (as URLs from tools/attach projects). You don't need a new BOINC for each one. SETI and over 50 projects are in mine, in addition to WCG.

I have the same problem.
----------------------------------------I have uninstalled and reinstalled BOINC, detached and attached to WCG, and verified that the account key matches the authenticator in the XML file. No improvement. It behaves as if the key was generated incorrectly (bad checksum). Is there any way to get a new, correctly generated, key without creating a new account? Is there any way to get a new, correctly generated, key without creating a new account? No. The account key is generated only per account. It's a unique identifier. So perhaps waiting till Monday is an idea.
